In proving that Dambadiva is Sri Lanka,but not India

 Its time to think about the visit of Hitibandra in Ovitapaana to Dambadiva

When the time that the god of Lanka, Devanapathissa The Greatest King, rules the land in the manner of Sakra, the king of the gods, Hitibandra in Ovitapaana who came with the Saranangas (1)  and the people of eighteen caste families was given seven fiefs and the one called Hitibandra in Ovitapaana made the gardens & fields in this place called Athupala and cultivated and lived in this village called Athupala and then the soldiers of the land of Portugal came in to this land. ඕවිටපාන හිටි බණ්ඩාර දඹදිවින් පැමිණීම ගැන සිතා බැලීමට කාලයයි

ශ්‍රී  ලංකේශ්වර වූ උතුම් දෙවනපතිස්ස දේවසමිදරුවානන්  වහන්සේ සක්‍රදේවේන්ද්‍ර ලීලාවෙන් රජ්‍යශ්‍රීවකර වැඩවද්‍රරණ ප්‍රස්ථාව දඹදිවින් වැඩිය සරණංගයෙන් ද, දසඅට කුලවාසීන්ගෙන්ද, කැටුව  ආ අය අතුරින් ඕවිටිපාන හිටිබණ්ඩාරට නින්දගම් හතක් ලැබී තිබෙනප්‍රස්ථාවට  ඕවිටිපාන හිටිබණ්ඩාර විසින් අතුපල කියන මේ අඩවිය අස්වද්දා ගෙවතු තනා අතුපල යන නම කියමින් මෙම ගම භුක්ති විඳගෙන  එන ප්‍රස්ථාවට පරංගි හේවාකම් රටට පැමිණුනේය.  (W.S. 90 පුස්කොල පොත)·

 The 'Vanniraajaavaliya' records that the Baminisaaya (2) occurred in the reign of King Valagamba as something occurred in Dambadiva.

Ape munivarshayen lath hathsiya visithune   ka

E Baminisaaya Dabadiva pamini varshaye     ka

Dakimin ekak Dabadiva rajakala varshaye    ka

Palabu thilovata mathu saka      varshaye     ka

In the year after seven hundred and twenty three our Buddh years, in the year that Baminisaaya came (occurred) in Dambadiva ……..

වළගම්බා රාජ්‍ය කාලයේ දී සිදුවූ බැමිණිසාය දඹදිවට සිදුවූ සිදුවීමක් ලෙස වන්නිරාජාවලියෙන් පෙන්වා දෙයි.

A statement to explain that Kolomthota (3) was coming under Jambudveepa

According to the above, the statement of the lawyer in the royal courts that Dambadiva had been located 57 miles to the northen part from Colombo gets well confirmed.

     කොළොම්තොට අයත්ව තිබුණේ  ජම්බුද්වීපයට බව පෙන්වා දෙන කියමකි.

ඉහත සඳහන් විස්තරයට අනුව බ්‍රිතාන්‍ය රාජකීය නීතිවේදියාගේ කියමන එනම් දඹදිව කොළඹ සිට සැ. 57 ක් පමණ නැගහිරින් පිහිටා තිබීම මනාව ඔප්පු වෙයි.

(1)  They may be the Sangas. i.e. the members in the Order.

(2)  The drought called Baminisaaya.

(3) The ferry of Colombo.
