The most significant heritage of Sri Lanka is the Buddha himself. Buddha is a son of Heladiva (Sri Lanka), but not of India. The real history of Lanka is hidden. The writers of chronicles had changed the history. What is the the reason behind the origin of Muhudu Maha Vihara in Pothuvil, Sri Lanka? (Where did Buddha meet the King Kawanthissa and Queen Vihara Mahadevi?), What is the the reason behind the origin of Magul Maha Vihara in Lahugala, Sri Lanka? (Where did King Kawanthissa and Queen Vihara Mahadevi have their wedding ceremony?), What is the the reason behind the origin of Maligavila, Sri Lanka? (Where was King Dutugamunu born, where did he have his naming ceremony?), All the statues of Maithriya Bosath are made in a way that they are looking at the sea. Why is it?

ReplyDeleteI always thought about Maligawila Bodhisatta statue as a unique and historical one. I felt that there has to be a hidden story behind this giant and beautiful statue. Then my mind always inquired about King Dutugamunu and I always thought of him as a Bidhisattwa. Thank you so much Most Ven. Thero for this marvelous and sacred discovery.
